This CMM is available in two versions: ATLAS and ATLAS HA. It is an all-purpose flexible CMM ideal for the dimensional inspection of large castings and machined parts. ATLAS HA combines higher accuracy and good dynamics to meet the most demanding requirements in terms of precision and throughput. The 3D continuous scanning ability makes this machine very suitable for both inspection and digitizing applications.

• The ATLAS longitudinal beams, the moving carriage and the Z ram are made of granite, a material that ensures high temperature stability and machine rigidity during inspection operations.
• CMM guideways are machined to achieve superior straightness. As a result, even machine mechanical errors are minimized and residual geometrical errors can be easily compensated for.
• The ATLAS motion along the longitudinal axis is controlled by a dual drive/dual reader system.
• The machine moves along four fully controlled and compensated axes that allow high accuracy positioning and measurements.
• The innovative mechanical design of the transversal carriage contributes to make ATLAS an extremely stable machine. The carriage is made of a dual parallel granite beam that allows the Z ram to slide in between.
• The ram axis is centered with respect to the driving system to reduce torque applied to air bearings. This improves machine repeatability.
• The CMM slides along axes on proprietary design air bearings allowing smooth, precise, frictionless motion. Air bearings location optimizes carriage stability during motion. In addition, their center of gravity is on axis with the barycentre of the pneumatic support points (air outlets), thus minimizing torque.
