The ScanWorks Contour Probe uses solid state, non-contact, laser-based technology to optically generate a line of points at the rate of 23,040 points/second. This is far beyond the rate of traditional contact or single-point acquisition technology.
ScanWorks software tightly synchronizes the acquisition of image data to the arm position through Perceptron's Contour Probe.
Users can easily control data collection through control buttons on the arm. Once initiated, the system collects part profiles at a user-defined rate until instructed to stop. For each profile, the arm position is then used to translate the profile data into a common coordinate frame. Once translated, the profile is married with the other profiles to produce a 3-D part topography.
